Jesuit Service Cambodia works in many mine and war affected communities in Banteay Meanchey, Siem Reap, Battambang. We try to serve the communities as a whole and focus on disabled and most vulnerable persons.
To assist and guide us with our work in these poor and mine affected areas, Jesuit Service Cambodia, in conjunction with the survivors of landmines, developed a 12-point plan in 1999.
Prior to developing the 12 point plan, the group discussed and reflected upon their lives as disabled people. They also held many interviews with the disabled. Their research showed that:
With this information, the 12 point plan was devised. The plan serves as a indicator of our success in the mine affected communities.
