We provide support through Outreach programs to former students and village families

When students graduate from the Centre of Dove, we believe it is important that they continue to receive support from our team. This support takes place in the form of outreach facilitated by a small team who are accompanied by former teachers.

In 2002, 17 of our graduates set up small workshops in the villages, 14 were employed in factories, garages or NGO's and 4 began new programs in raising animals and farming.

A number of our graduates work at an on site production shop, which in 2002, produced all the furnishings for the Catholic Student Centre, playground equipment, school furniture and other welded and wooden equipment. This production contributes a small percentage to the running costs of the training program.

Outreach to the disabled in the villages is equally important. As well as the vocational and production centre at the Centre of the Dove and the wheelchair program, we have outreach programs from Banteay Prieb to disabled in villages in Kandal and Kampong Speu and Kampong Chang.

We know that in general physically challenged people are among the poorest in the country and that the current economic situation does not assist them. Mostly, we are associated with people who live in a particular village on an individual basis. So our service is to try to help an individual within a community. When we help with a well, for instance, it benefits others in the village. Other services include housing, health, non-formal education, revolving grants for income generation, and assistance for children to go to school. A welcome centre at Banteay Prieb receives visitors daily.
