The number of students put through our schools each year continues to grow demonstrating parents and children realise the value an education has on their future. In villages where it was once difficult to find a literate person, there are now scores of people taking education classes.
In 2002, our education program built two schools in Prasad Bakong district - one in the Popeil village and the other in the Kropue village. Minor repair of three schools was carried out in three schools in the villages of Chhouk Sor, Prey Thmai and Karuna.
When we began our work in Kropea, there was only one literate
person in this old Khmer Rouge village, now there are 79 students ready to
enter Grade 3. Our school in Chuk So has over 490 students. We also offer
literacy classes and advocacy days.
