Sisophon (Banteay Meanchey)

Sharing a border with Thailand, Banteay Meanchey, meaning 'Fortress of Victory', is one of Cambodia's newest provinces, only established in the 1990s.

In 1993, Jesuit Service Cambodia established a Centre in Sisophon, in the Banteay Meanchey Province.

Created as a sanctuary for the displaced, the Centre was later moved to O Ambel, near Sisophon. Today the Centre offers educational, wheelchair distribution and follow-up, mine-affected community development and advocacy services.
