We work with children in Battambang

In collaboration with the Providence Sisters of Battambang, we run the Providence Hope for Youth Centre. It is a lively and energy giving place where young residents from mine-affected communities, some of whom are disabled, come to study through an accelerated learning program. Some of the students live on-site and others live with foster families. All of the students eat at the Centre and participate in dancing, drama, sports and take part in caring for the home and excursions.

In addition we sponsor accommodation for blind and other disabled children and accompany them as they learn in other places. They spend some months there to catch up on their schooling and to develop enough skills to re-enter normal school life. The Centre provides intensive courses in literacy and numeracy and followed by apprenticeship programs like electronic repairing and tailoring.
