Lun Kamsot: Play the Game Ban Cluster Munitions
On August 5th, the Cambodia Campaign to Ban Landmines and Cluster Bombs (CCBL) organized the "Oslo Cup" soccer match between the Cambodian army, Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC), a local team from the hosts in Battambang and survivors of landmines and cluster munitions as well as campaigners. The goal of the event was to encourage the government to sign the Convention on Cluster Munitions (CCM). The game was a successful way to bring together a diverse group of people who are all affected by cluster munitions. After an intense qualifying round, the army and the team that consisted of campaigners and survivors (Metta Karuna) battled for the win. In the end, Metta Karuna had a triumphant win and was excited to not only claim bragging rights but also went home with some great prizes.
