2nd Sep 2004, 9.00am:Father Vincent goes to Bangkok for medical treatment
Father
Vincent Dierckx sj, born in 1921, worked as a Biology professor in India for more
than thirty years. After he retired, he also worked in a refugee camp in Thailand
before he joined the Cambodian Jesuits . The Belgian Father continued to work
in Cambodia for more than ten years until he accidentally fell and broke his hip
in April, 2004.
He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and was sent
home to recover, but his conditions deteriorated during the following months,
so that the Jesuits decided to send him to Bangkok for rehabilitation and physiotherapy.
The medical treatment in Bangkok enabled him to walk with the help of crutches
and we are looking forward to see him fully recovered and walking by himself,
soon.
