Y0U WHO HAVE EARS TO HEAR LISTEN!!!

On 28 June Sr. Mary Lawon rsm (Brisbane), Ms Fran Nolan and Ms Kay Weber all specialists in deaf education arrived from the Brisbane Catholic Education Office in Queens land of to share their expertise with our programme in Cambodia. They began by establishing the context: visiting Banteay Prieb Centre of Healing and Training, going where hearing children live and seeing both the conditions of the villages and efforts our Metta Karuna team, led by Kanya, Cheatta and Samet have made to give opportunities for the villagers to develop their communities.

On the village visit, they saw the new high school we are building with Buddhist monks with support from Japan

The Brisbane trio are helping our Cambodian team with different ways of improving educational opportunities for the deaf. They visited Krousar Thmey school for the deaf and will discuss a longer term vision for education of the hearing impaired in Cambodian schools. As well they will train our team in different communication methods with the deaf team in our house
